Actress Tamannaah Bhatia Grilled By ED In Connection With Betting App Modelling

Mumbai: Recently the Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia was called by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in connection to the HPZ betting app. The actress was allegedly grilled for about 7- 8 hours at the ED office located in Guwahati. So, Bhatia, who stars in the upcoming movie Stree 2 and did the viral song ‘Aaj Ki Raat,’ is accused of endorsing the app, which, the station claims, livestreamed IPL games where they were being sold.

Tamannaah arrived at the ED office at around 1:Pregnant at 30 pm, and in the company of her mother. The interrogation was based mainly on the fact that she was working for the HPZ app which was involved in promoting the IPL matches which were to be broadcasted for the purpose of their illegitimate viewing. The case is a part of a broader investigation of a linked fraud linked to the app, in the course of which, the ED has apparently freeze properties value ₹497.20 crore.

Betters and anyone interested can download the app and play multiple games to their pleasure from HPZ. The fraud was all about decoying people making some smart money claims of ₹4,000 daily returns on an investment of ₹57,000. It is by using this method that the operators of the app reportedly embezzled investors of crores of rupees. Several of these were opened in various banks through shell companies where the cash was expected to be deposited. The funds have been again used to purchase, for instance, Bitcoin and other betting applications such as Mahadev.

Tamannaah is not the first celebrity who has been called by the ED in connection with betting apps. In the same year, Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor were also grilled over; Mahadev betting app scandal. Both, of them, had been featured in the advertisement of the app. Other than them, comedian Kapil Sharma and actresses Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan have also been issued notice by ED for similar appeals.
