New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 students to apply for verification of issues and re evaluation of answer books, providing additional time to candidates facing difficulties in accessing the post result services portal. The decision comes amid an unprecedented surge in applications and technical challenges, including repeated cyber attack attempts targeting the online system.
According to CBSE, the extension has been granted to ensure that all eligible students receive a fair opportunity to submit their requests for review of answer sheets. The board had earlier opened the online facility for students who had already obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer books. The original application window was scheduled to close this week.
The move comes at a crucial time as thousands of students continue to seek clarification and reassessment of their board examination marks following concerns raised over the evaluation process. CBSE data shows that more than 70,000 applications related to post result grievance redressal, including re evaluation requests, had already been received by June 4.
Board officials stated that the extension was necessary because of heavy traffic on the portal and the need to accommodate students who were unable to complete the process within the earlier deadline. The board has also assured students that its systems remain secure despite multiple cyber attack attempts reported in recent days. A formal complaint has been lodged with Delhi Police regarding the incidents.
The CBSE post result process allows students to report issues identified in scanned answer books and seek re evaluation of specific answers. Applications can be submitted online through the official CBSE portal after completing the prescribed procedure and fee payment. The board has clarified that students do not require accounts in any specific public sector bank to make payments for these services.
The extension is expected to benefit thousands of Class 12 students across the country, particularly those who experienced technical glitches or delays while accessing the portal. Education experts believe the additional time will help reduce anxiety among students and ensure greater transparency in the review process.
CBSE has advised students to regularly monitor official notifications and complete the application process well before the revised deadline to avoid last minute congestion on the portal. The board is also continuing round the clock monitoring of its digital systems to ensure uninterrupted access to post result services.
