Indore: In a bizarre twist that’s left the political circles buzzing, senior Congress leader and former district president Sadashiv Yadav finds himself entangled in a digital nightmare.
A forged wedding invitation card, purporting to announce his nuptials on February 24, 2026, has gone viral on social media, complete with a dubious link that’s raising red flags for potential cyber fraud.
An unknown prankster or cyber crook has crafted the counterfeit digital card, which has been widely circulated, surprising Yadav. “When I heard about it, I was taken aback,” Yadav recalled, quickly clarifying that no such wedding is planned and he has not sent out any invitations. He suspects that someone may have hacked his mobile phone or social media accounts to spread this misinformation.
Fearing a larger scam, Yadav has urged his friends, relatives, and acquaintances to steer clear of the invitation and avoid clicking the attached link, which could lead to phishing or data theft. “This isn’t just harmless fun; it smells like a calculated cyber attack,” he warned.
The matter has escalated to the authorities, with Yadav lodging a formal complaint at the local police station, highlighting suspicions of cybercrime. Police and the cyber cell are now probing the origins of the fake invite, aiming to unmask the perpetrator and their motives. As investigations unfold, this incident underscores the growing perils of digital deception in an increasingly connected world.
