Unlike ordinary electronic devices that rely on continuous power to function, a pen drive operates on a fascinating piece of engineering known as flash memory. This technology completely defies the common assumption that digital data simply vanishes the moment electricity is cut off.
Consumers often imagine digital storage working like a light bulb that requires a constant flow of current to stay illuminated. However a pen drive uses a fundamentally different mechanism. It acts much like a physical door latch in your house. It requires an initial physical force to lock the door but once secured you do not need to stand there holding it tight all night. Therefore electricity is not required to keep the data alive continuously. Its only purpose is to set the initial structural position. The data inside your flash drive is physically locked in place rather than being electrically sustained. In simpler terms a pen drive does not actually memorise your data but merely traps microscopic electrons in a specific pattern to preserve your digital files indefinitely.
