Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Holds First Cabinet Meeting, Announces Ayushman Bharat Scheme Implementation

New Delhi: Newly sworn-in Chief Minister of Delhi Rekha Gupta chaired her first Cabinet meeting at the Delhi Secretariat here on Thursday. After the meeting, she said the national health scheme, Ayushman Bharat, will be launched in the national capital, and the 14 reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) would be tabled in the assembly session slated to be held next week. Gupta stated that the Cabinet meeting deliberated on these two significant issues and reached a unanimous decision.

Commitment to Public Promises

Gupta assured as CM that she would fulfil all public promises. In response to requests by AAP leader Atishi during the meeting for ₹2,500 monthly assistance to women, she said, “This is our government, and we will take care of our things. What action did you take while in power?

Before the Cabinet meeting, Yamuna Aarti

CM Gupta had earlier in the day, a few hours after her swearing-in ceremony to take over as the ninth Chief Minister of Delhi, performed a Yamuna aarti at Vasudev Ghat with her six Cabinet ministers. Pollution of the Yamuna had emerged as a major electoral issue during the assembly elections.

Gupta, along with BJP Delhi unit president Virendra Sachdeva and his Cabinet colleagues Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh, performed ‘Maa Yamuna Pooja’ before the Cabinet meeting.

After doing the aarti of Yamuna, CM said

CM Gupta said, “Today, during the Yamuna aarti, we once again pledged efforts to restore Maa Yamuna back to her glory, cleaning her. We will come out with an all-encompassing framework to distribute the resources to clean Yamuna and beseech her blessings over Delhi.

Delhi minister Parvesh Verma said after the ritual at the Vasudev Ghat, “We have sought the blessings of Maa Yamuna. In addition to Yamuna, he pledged to fulfil all the promises made.
