Mumbai: Team India could take the field in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 without a sponsor logo on their jerseys, following the conclusion of their previous deal with Dream11.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has now invited fresh bids for a new jersey sponsor, with the deadline set for September 16.
The development comes after Dream11’s contract as Team India’s principal jersey sponsor expired, leaving the national side temporarily without a commercial emblem on their kits. The BCCI has issued a formal update, calling upon interested companies to submit their proposals for the coveted sponsorship slot.
According to sources, the bidding process will be conducted online, and the new sponsor is expected to be finalised before India’s first match in the Asia Cup, scheduled for September 9. However, if the process is delayed, fans may witness the Men in Blue donning sponsor-free jerseys — a rare sight in modern cricket.
The previous sponsorship deal with Dream11 had placed the fantasy sports platform’s logo prominently on Team India’s kits across formats. With the Asia Cup being a high-profile tournament, the absence of a sponsor could have both branding and financial implications.
The BCCI’s move to open bidding reflects its intent to secure a lucrative and long-term partnership. Industry insiders suggest that several major players, including Winzo and My11Circle, may throw their hats into the ring.
As the countdown to the Asia Cup begins, the spotlight is not only on India’s squad and strategy but also on the jersey that could make headlines for its minimalist look.
