Washington: The world deplores the Russian airstrike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy on Monday that killed at least 35. Former US president Donald Trump, though, has turned the finger of blame back at Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, claiming he is to blame for the deaths of “millions” and that he and, respectively, Russian president Vladimir Putin and President Joe Biden should be held jointly responsible for the ongoing conflict.

In another of his tirades, Trump claimed it was “Zelensky’s foolishness” to go to war and urged that Ukraine should have never fought a battle with a country 20 times its size. His contempt towards Zelensky and President Biden has been especially expressive, blaming their high mortality.

Talking to reporters following a visit with the El Salvador President, Trump said, “We’ll say number one on the list is Putin, number two on the list is Biden, who didn’t know what he was doing, and then number three is Zelensky. These three are accountable for the million deaths. He also said, “That’s all I can do is try to stop it.”

In the rest of his statement, Trump trashed Zelensky’s handling of the war, arguing, ‘Starting a war with such a lack of knowledge as to “winnability” is the most fatal mistake this Ukraine leader could ever make.’ “One does not simply enter a war against a nation and know — enter a war against a nation come to my alignments; you have to ASPIRE to win — when you commit to action against a nation, you have to know if your land will still be intact after. You don’t go into a war, and you’d be sending missiles and someone, and you expect people to send me missiles,” said the top Trump.

Regarding the ceasefire now being negotiated, Trump suggested that a deal with Kyiv may be in the offing, but he said talks continue to ensure US access to Ukraine’s crucial mineral wealth.
