Revolutionising Urban Travel: Solar powered EVVayve At ₹3.25 Lakh

NewDelhi: India’s first solar-powered electric car, the Vayve Eva, was unveiled recently at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 as part of a busy slew of launches in the Indian automotive industry. This compact commuter, priced at ₹3.25 lakh, is meant for urban commuting and will revolutionise sustainable transportation in India.

The Vayve Eva measures just 3 meters in length and is available in three variants: Nova, Stella, and Vega. According to Singh, the introductory price of the Nova variant is ₹3.25 lakh, the Stella variant being priced at ₹3.99 lakh, and the Vega variant at ₹4.49 lakh. The Eva can even travel up to 250 km on a single charge, says the company, making it a viable option for daily commutes.

The Vayve Eva touts its integrated solar panel as one of its outstanding features: you can install it instead of a traditional sunroof. This innovative addition enables the car to generate additional energy—up to 10 km of range per day—from solar power alone. In this, the cost of running the vehicle is extremely low, and it boils down to 80 paise per kilometre.

The interior of the Vayve Eva has a minimalist design, a forward-facing single seat, and a wider rear seat that can comfortably carry a child and an adult. Six adjustable positions in the driver’s seat ensure perfect comfort. Among the other features are a panoramic sunroof, plus a reverse parking camera, greatly improving utility and driving pleasure.

In doing this, Vayve Mobility is hoping to serve the needs of environmentally conscious consumers with a solution to urban travel that is sustainable thanks to the Eva. Boasting competitive pricing and innovative features, the Vayve Eva is riding the waves in the electric vehicle market while its delivery paperwork begins to fall into place in 2026.
