Berlin: A German company, Billy Boy, has developed an application called Camdom, labelled the “digital condom,” that was designed to prevent unauthorised audio and video recordings through Bluetooth while making love. Packing a catchy phrase of “As Easy As Using a Real Condom,” Camdom is just as easy to use and as efficient in protecting the privacy of it’s users.
Here is how camdom blocks cameras and microphones
Camdom’s technology discourages every form of recording, be it audio or video, that might be conducted discreetly by halting the recording source; cameras and mics through Bluetooth when connected. The Hindustan Times quoted the app’s developer, Felipe Almeida saying, “Smartphones are as inseparable from us as a wallet with private information.” This app was made from the ground up to help prevent unwanted recording of content and is a great addition of protection.”
How to Use Camdom
According to a section of its website, there is a very easy process of activation of this company’s products. In essence, prior to conducting any intimate actions, the user must have their smartphone close and turn on Camdom with a swipe of a finger on a button on the app. Once activated, the app scans for all Bluetooth-connected devices within range and all the camera and microphones tied to them then proceeds to link with said devices to alleviate the recording ability.
When a user attempts to exit the app and avoid the constraints, an alarm rings giving the other person a chance of an ascertained violation of privacy. To regain normal record capabilities, the “Unblock” button must be held for three seconds and this is able to end all devices’ connexions with the application. According to Billy Boy they are able to protect several devices at the same time and Camdom was created together with Inossian Berlin.
