Bengaluru: BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh has strongly hit back at Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge’s demand to register the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Addressing a public gathering, Santhosh asserted that the RSS does not need any formal registration to prove its existence, as the organisation functions successfully on the profound trust and faith of millions of people across the country.
Speaking at the ‘Akhand Bharat Sankalp Day’ event organised by the Hindu Jagarana Vedike in Bengaluru, Santhosh reminded political opponents of the historical role played by the RSS. He highlighted that even during the traumatic period of the 1947 partition, the RSS stood firmly by Hindus without possessing any formal registration certificate. “The RSS was not registered back then, and it is not registered even today. Registration does not determine its existence; it is an organisation that thrives on the trust of millions,” the BJP leader stated emphatically.
Taking a direct dig at the Congress leadership, Santhosh recalled the violent history of the Razakar attacks in Hyderabad. Directly addressing Priyank Kharge, he pointed out that when Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge’s family was forced to flee their village and seek refuge in Gulbarga (now Kalaburagi) to escape the Razakar atrocities, it was the RSS workers who stood on the ground and valiantly fought against the attackers.
During his speech, the BJP General Secretary also shared his views on demographic changes and nationalism. He controversially claimed that whenever the Hindu population declines in a specific region, anti national sentiments begin to rise, and the region’s cultural connection with the rest of India weakens. Pointing to Bengaluru’s Shivajinagar and Chamarajpet assembly constituencies as examples, he noted that no political party has managed to secure a victory for a Hindu candidate in these areas over the last two decades.
Santhosh further emphasised the necessity of maintaining a Hindu majority, stating it is essential not to defeat anyone, but to ensure that “India remains India.” He concluded his address by urging the citizens to actively work towards the cultural and nationalistic dream of an ‘Akhand Bharat’ (Undivided India), citing the successful historical reunifications of Germany and Vietnam as powerful examples that such dreams can become a reality.
