Bengaluru: The Karnataka Police on Monday arrested a driver in connection with the murder of a senior geologist with the Department of Mines and Geology in Bengaluru.
The 43-year-old, K S Prathima, was stabbed to death in Doddakallasandra’s Kuvempu Nagar where she lived with her son in a rented house in the first floor of a building, two days ago. The body with slit throat was recovered by her elder brother around 8.30 am Sunday.
The arrested, identified as Kiran, had worked as Prathima’s driver. “He was working as a driver and was removed from his position, probably seven to 10 days earlier,” Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand told NDTV.
He reportedly went missing after the incident and his phone was found switched off.
Reports further said that Kiran fled to Chamarajanagar, around 200 km from Bengaluru, after allegedly stabbing Prathima on Saturday evening. He admitted have murdered Pratima since she sacked him, the NDTV quoted sources as saying.
