New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has taken stringent action against IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, who has been embroiled in multiple controversies. The UPSC has disqualified Khedkar from her position and barred her from appearing in any future examinations or selection processes conducted by the commission. Additionally, Khedkar’s candidature for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022 has been canceled.
The UPSC’s decision came after a thorough examination of records, revealing that Pooja Khedkar had violated the rules governing the CSE-2022. The commission conducted an extensive review of data spanning the last 15 years, involving over 15,000 candidates. The findings indicated discrepancies and potential misconduct on Khedkar’s part.
Pooja Khedkar has been accused of forgery, leading to her interim bail hearing on Wednesday (July 31) in a Delhi court. The court has reserved its decision, with the verdict expected on August 1. The Delhi Police Crime Branch had earlier registered a case against Khedkar, alleging that she provided false information regarding her name, photograph, email, and address in official documents. Following the Crime Branch’s action, Khedkar sought relief from the court to avoid arrest.
The UPSC had previously issued a notice to Khedkar after an internal investigation revealed that she had fraudulently exploited examination rules. Khedkar reportedly exceeded the permissible number of attempts by creating fake identities, altering names, and manipulating photographs, signatures, email IDs, mobile numbers, and addresses.
This decisive action by the UPSC underscores the commission’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process and upholding the highest standards of transparency and fairness. The case serves as a stern warning to other aspirants about the consequences of attempting to manipulate the system.
