Shahid Kapoor’s Struggle To Stardom: The Film That Changed His Fate

Mumbai: The 43 year old actor is now among the leading actors of Bollywood but the journey wasn’t very smooth for Shahid Kapoor. If it is considered that the Bollywood industry has provided several setbacks to new comers and hence after joining the industrial field also Shahid likewise struggled to search the first successful film. It would take Shahid 3 years for his stocks to rise and in them eight movies of his were produced but none of them were capable in making a noise at the box office. But as they say, “wheel of time always turns” and it did turn for Shahid also changing his fate fully. His ninth film was so big that even now, years after its release, you can still watch it and still enjoy it.

Shahid Kapoor stepping in to Bollywood started as an actor in 2003 with the film named Ishq Vishk though it failed to do well and was just average with the moviegoing public. Then, in succession, five of his films did not make the desired mark, one of which just scraped through the semi-hit mark, the other being labeled as an average film.

Shooting for entrancing family entertainment ‘Vivah’, was completed for almost INR 8 crore, while it was released globally and collected more than INR 49.56 crore, barely marking the success hitting six times its budget. This, by and large, made the film a cult one, enjoyed by those specially interested in its particularism.
