JP Nadda, Dharmendra Pradhan Review NEET UG 2026 Re Exam Preparations Ahead Of June 21 Test

New Delhi: Union Health Minister J P Nadda met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to review preparations for the NEET UG 2026 re examination, which is scheduled to be held on June 21. The meeting comes at a crucial time as the Centre and the National Testing Agency are working to ensure a fair, secure and error free conduct of the medical entrance test.

The review focused on coordination between the Health Ministry, Education Ministry and examination authorities. NEET UG is the gateway for admission to undergraduate medical courses across the country, making the examination process highly sensitive for students, parents and institutions.

According to reports, the government has stepped up monitoring and security arrangements after concerns over irregularities in the earlier examination process. The re examination is expected to be conducted with stricter safeguards, improved surveillance and closer coordination among agencies.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has already reviewed preparations with officials at the National Testing Agency headquarters. After the meeting, he assured students and parents that the re examination would be conducted without flaws or loopholes. He also urged candidates to remain focused on their studies and cooperate with the process.

The minister said the government is committed to holding a transparent and fair examination. He also indicated that the results would be declared on time so that students do not lose valuable academic time. The NEET UG 2026 re examination is scheduled from 2 pm to 5:15 pm on June 21.

Earlier, Pradhan had reviewed the preparedness for the examination with Dr K Radhakrishnan, Chairman of the High Powered Steering Committee set up to monitor implementation of recommendations related to the National Testing Agency. The NTA also briefed officials about additional security measures, surveillance mechanisms and steps to strengthen the examination system.

The re examination is expected to be held at more than 5,400 centres in 550 cities across the country. With lakhs of medical aspirants awaiting the test, the government is under pressure to restore confidence in the examination process and ensure that the academic calendar is not further disrupted.
