From the rank of a democrat to an independent, now republican

Gabbard is a member of the Democratic Party that left it in December 2020 to become an independent politician and later join the Republican Party. Gabbard was once the rising star in the Democratic Party, but her stance has shifted over time to the point she left the party and went independent. A Move That Surprised Many

Why Gabbard Made the Switch

Gabbard switched her party from Democrat to Republican making her more and more different from the party she has left. In recent years, she has voiced her disapproval of Obama and other Democrats and she has embraced more traditionally Republican stances on a number of topics. For her to stand among Trump’s rally and proclaim her support for the new Republican party puts her more than just within the GOP.

As the U.S moves closer to the 2024 presidential polls, Gabbard’s decision to cross the floor to the Republican Party is considered a crucial development. As the campaign heats up in the next few months, her association with Donald Trump could be of immense value.
