Epic Clash: Ramayana’s 4K Revival Challenges Akshay’s Sky Force

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar’s patriotic venture Sky Force faces unexpected competition as the critically acclaimed 1993 Indo-Japanese animated film “Ramayana” will be released on January 24th, 2025 as well, with The Legend of Prince Rama.

The Animation Classic Returns
This remastered Ramayana will be in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and English, and in 4K resolution and audio quality.

Directed by Yugo Sako, Ram Mohan, and Koichi Sasaki, the film’s trailer was released today, and it’s already made waves for the outstanding look of its animation and visual effects.

Sky Force’s Challenge
Industry experts jab Sky Force’s timing, as the company’s promotional campaign goes into full swing. Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s starrer film’s trailer has got mixed reactions.

It has been criticised for providing too much plot and being reminiscent of more recent aerial action flicks, though critics say the trailer shows sincerity in its presentation.

Stakes Are High
Akshay Kumar needs 2025 to turn out to be his year after a string of duds at the box office. In the first airstrike, Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur direct Sky Force, in which Kumar plays an Indian Air Force officer on a quest for vengeance after a deadly attack.

Distribution and Exhibition
The Ramayana distribution rights are managed by Geek Pictures India and AA Films, and creative adaptation is being taken care of by V Vijayendra Prasad, SS Rajamouli’s father.

Its release strategy is designed to reach those adults who remember the film’s television broadcast as well as a new generation of viewers seeing the epic on the screen for the first time.
