Bhubaneswar: Nothing was put of place at the Durga Puja in Singapore except of course the location. The festival was celebrated by the Indian community including Odias, Bengalis and Bangladeshis.
Just like in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata there were brightly decorated pandals on the streets.
Bengali Associations, Singapore India Association, Ramakrishna Mission and group of Odias organised Durga Puja in Singapore at different locations.
The cultural heritage of India was also showcased on the occasion.
Cultural programmes including Odissi and Dandiya were also held.
An Odissi dance programme, performed by Vani, Suchi Smita, Archana Pani, Kriti Krishna Sahoo, Aiswarya Panda and Preeti Dash was highly appreciated.
The Odia community in Singapore is at the forefront in observing Indian festivals and organising cultural programmes.
