Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday expressed shock over the 24 times rise in CBSE Class-X and Class-XI examination fees for SC and ST students.
In a letter to Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, he said that the sharp hike in the examination fees had led to resentment among parents and stakeholders. “The Odisha government has opened more than 200 English Medium Model Schools affiliated to CBSE in rural areas for the benefit of economically and socially under-privileged sections of the society. This decision is bound to result in acute hardship to them,” he said.
“Therefore, I request you to prevail upon CBSE to reconsider its decision in the interest of people,” he added.
