Bhopal: How good are your leaders running this country? People of Gwalior got a taste of this on this Republic Day when one of the law makers had difficulty reading her speech.
Madhya Pradesh Woman and Child Development Minister, Imarti Devi was in a tough spot on Saturday after she failed to read what was written in her Republic Day speech. Devi later asked the district collector Bharat Yadav to take over and read her speech.
The video showing her fumbling reading her speech has gone viral in social media. Devi can be heard reading the first few lines of the speech after which she stopped and said ” Collector saheb padhenge (collector will read)”.

After the video went viral, Devi blamed it on her health.
“I was sick for the past two days, you can ask the doctor. But it is okay. the collector read it (the speech) properly,” Devi told news agency ANI.
Devi had taken oath as the Woman and Child Development Minister earlier last month after Chief Minister Kamal Nath allocated 28 new ministers for the state.
As per media reports, officials believe she has to be more careful while signing government documents and important projects.
Records suggest she cleared her class 12 from the open schooling system.
