New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation during the 139th episode of his monthly radio broadcast, ‘Mann Ki Baat,‘ describing the program as an enriching journey to understand and celebrate the immense contributions of ordinary citizens. The Prime Minister lauded the hard work, courage, and dedication of the people, equating his experience of the show to a spiritual journey.

Reflecting on the program’s inception 12 years ago on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, PM Modi emphasized that the listeners have been the core strength behind its uninterrupted continuity. “For me, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has been a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the hard work, courage, resolve, dedication, and spirit of service of the ordinary people of our country,” he stated.

Drawing a parallel with India’s ancient traditions, the Prime Minister added, “We have a tradition of pilgrimages for centuries. For me, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is no less than a pilgrimage; it is a journey to closely understand the efforts of the country’s people and pay tribute to their contributions.”

A major focus of the episode was on grassroots initiatives, particularly the revival of traditional agricultural practices. PM Modi highlighted the ‘Nav-Trinjan’ initiative spearheaded by an organization called ‘Kheti Virasat Mission’ in the Malwa region of Punjab. The project promotes organic farming and the cultivation of natural cotton without the use of chemical fertilizers. He praised such efforts for adapting generation-old traditional skills to meet modern-day needs.

The Prime Minister also took a moment to reflect on the profound teachings of Maharishi Valmiki. He underscored how the epic Ramayana imparts lessons on perseverance, compassion, and social harmony. “Lord Ram embraced the love and devotion of Mata Shabari and respected the friendship of Nishadraj. This spirit of taking everyone along continues to guide us today,” PM Modi remarked, urging citizens to draw inspiration from these timeless values.
