Patna: Popular educator Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, has received major relief from Patna Civil Court, which has stayed his arrest in connection with the coaching centre firing case. The court’s order has temporarily protected him from arrest while the legal process and police investigation continue.
The case is linked to an incident outside Khan Global Studies Institute in Patna, where tension broke out after a group allegedly vandalised the coaching centre and pelted stones at the premises. The matter later took a serious turn after allegations surfaced that shots were fired during the incident.
According to reports, police had booked Khan Sir under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. The development created strong public interest because Khan Sir is one of the most followed teachers in Bihar and has a large student base across the country through offline and online classes.
After the case was registered, Khan Sir moved the court seeking protection from arrest. His lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mahuar, had earlier said that an anticipatory bail plea would be filed before the Patna court. Following the hearing, the court granted interim relief by staying his arrest.
Police have already questioned security guards connected with the coaching institute. Reports said two guards were taken into custody for questioning after a video related to the alleged firing surfaced. However, the investigation is still going on and officials have not yet given a final conclusion on the exact sequence of events.
The incident has also brought attention back to the fast growing coaching industry in Patna. Lakhs of students depend on coaching centres for competitive exam preparation, and any dispute involving such institutions immediately becomes a matter of concern for students, parents and local authorities.
For Khan Sir, the court order is a temporary legal relief, not a final closure of the case. The investigation will continue and the court will examine the matter further as per legal procedure.
The larger question now is whether the police probe can clearly establish who was responsible for the violence and alleged firing. Until then, the case will remain under close public watch, especially because it involves a well known educator and a coaching sector that carries huge influence in Bihar’s education landscape.
