Patna: Rohini Acharya, daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav, left her family’s residence at Rabri Awas on Circular Road for Delhi on Saturday, sparking a dramatic fallout through Bihar’s political corridors.

The move comes mere hours after a blistering X post by the Patna Sahib MP ignited a firestorm of controversy, laying bare deep-seated family and party fissures. Acharya’s post, a raw outpouring of frustration over the RJD’s recent assembly election debacle, accused her kin and colleagues of shirking accountability. Speaking to reporters before her exit, she declared with poignant finality, “I have no family left — they have thrown me out.”

She alleged that probing queries about key figures like Sanjay Yadav, Rameez, and her brother Tejashwi Yadav would invite swift retribution: expulsion from the home, character assassination, public humiliation, and even physical assaults with footwear. The grievances run deep. Acharya singled out Sanjay Yadav, branding him a “Jaychand”— a betrayer in political lore — for allegedly sabotaging the Chapra Lok Sabha poll outcome and orchestrating her brother Tej Pratap Yadav’s ouster from both party and family circles.

She depicted him as an insurmountable barrier, obstructing crucial communication between grassroots workers and the leadership, leaving the cadre perplexed by the party’s declining fortunes. “Everyone is asking why we have sunk to this level,” she lamented, vowing to sever ties with politics altogether.

As Acharya boarded her flight to the capital, whispers of internal discord within the Yadav bastion grew louder, raising questions about the RJD’s unity ahead of future battles. The family, ensconced in the same Patna abode, offered no immediate response, leaving the air thick with unresolved tension.
