New Delhi: A sedition case is set to proceed against BJP MP and renowned actress Kangana Ranaut, linked to allegations surrounding the farmers’ protest.
The Agra court has accepted a revision petition in her case, with the next hearing scheduled for November 29.
Advocate Ramashankar Sharma, who filed the initial complaint, stated that his case was dismissed by the lower court on May 6, 2025. However, the revision petition was accepted on November 12 by the special MP MLA court in Agra, which will now hear the matter further.
The case against Kangana Ranaut was originally filed on September 11, 2024, accusing her of insulting farmers and Mahatma Gandhi. After nine months of hearings, the special court initially dismissed the case citing insufficient explanation.
Advocate Sharma expressed confidence in the progress following the acceptance of his revision petition by Special Judge Lokesh Kumar, marking a significant development in the legal battle.
