New Delhi: In a fiery audio address that electrified BJP ranks just days before Bihar’s high-octane polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unleashed a blistering broadside against the RJD-Congress ‘Mahagathbandhan’, dubbing it not a “gathbandhan” but a notorious “lathbandhan” – a club of criminals walking free on bail.

With Tejashwi Yadav freshly anointed as the Opposition’s CM face, Modi’s salvo painted a grim portrait of the state’s dark past, warning that the scars of “jungle raj” under Lalu Prasad’s regime will haunt Bihar for the next century.

Addressing the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot: Yuva Samvaad’ programme on October 23, Modi urged party workers to bridge generations: “Let elders gather at every booth and narrate the brutal tales of atrocities from those lawless days to the youth. No matter how desperately the Opposition whitewashes its sins, the people will never forgive them.” He evoked vivid memories of the rampant chaos, kidnappings, and extortion that defined Bihar’s 1990s nightmare, contrasting it with the NDA’s transformative era.

Modi hailed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the NDA for banishing naxalism and Maoist terror, crediting stable governance for a development boom: gleaming hospitals, top-notch schools, and sprawling rail networks. “Bihar’s youth chant with pride: ‘Raftaar pakad chuka Bihar, phir se NDA sarkar!’ This election is more than just a vote, he asserted, emphasising the importance of women’s empowerment as the next step forward.

Come November 14, he envisioned a “new dawn” with expanded schemes like the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, tasking cadres to onboard overlooked beneficiaries.

As polls unfolded in two phases on November 6 and 11, Modi rallied the faithful for a relentless 20-day blitz: connect with first-time voters, amplify scheme awareness, and remind every doorstep of the NDA’s promise – from tech-startup hubs curbing migration to unyielding law and order. Modi’s message pierced through Bihar’s tumultuous caste and clan rivalries: reject the ghosts of plunder for a future of pride and progress.
