New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has lauded the Narendra Modi-led government for its transformative governance over the past decade, highlighting a 75% reduction in violence across Jammu & Kashmir, the North-East, and Naxal-affected regions.

Speaking on the occasion of the Modi government completing ten years in power, Shah credited the administration’s “zero-tolerance” policy towards terrorism and extremism for the significant decline in unrest.

“Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has witnessed a decisive shift in internal security. The government’s firm stance against terrorism and Left-Wing Extremism has yielded historic results,” Shah said.

Naxalism To Be Eradicated By March 2026

Shah expressed confidence that Left-Wing Extremism, commonly referred to as Naxalism, will be completely eradicated from the country by March 2026. He cited successful operations like the surgical and air strikes, and the recent “Operation Sindoor,” as examples of the government’s proactive approach in dealing with insurgency.

“The message is clear — violence will not be tolerated. We are committed to restoring peace and development in every corner of the country,” he asserted.

COVID-19 Response And Collective Strength

Reflecting on the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shah praised the unity displayed by the Centre, state governments, and the people. “While the world struggled in isolation, India fought the pandemic as one. This collective strength is a testament to Modi ji’s leadership,” he said.

Welfare For The Poor: A Decade Of Delivery

Shah also highlighted the government’s welfare initiatives, stating that over 60 crore people have benefited from schemes providing housing, electricity, toilets, LPG connections, clean drinking water, free ration, and health insurance worth ₹5 lakh. “What was denied to the poor for decades has been delivered in just ten years,” he said.

He added that Modi’s inclusive development model, first implemented in Gujarat, has now been extended across the nation.

Leadership Style And Cabinet Functioning

Offering insights into Modi’s leadership style, Shah said that the Prime Minister never imposes his views in Cabinet meetings. “Every decision is taken collectively. That’s the strength of Modi ji’s leadership — he leads by consensus,” he remarked.

As the Modi government enters its third term, Shah’s remarks underscore the administration’s focus on national security, welfare, and inclusive development. With a clear roadmap ahead, including the ambitious goal of eliminating Naxalism by 2026, the government appears poised to continue its assertive governance model.
