Boat Carrying 55 People Sinks In The Ganga, 10 Missing

Patna: At least 10 persons reportedly went missing after a boat, carrying around 55 people, sank in the Ganga river near Shahpur police station area in Bihar’s Danapur on Sunday.

According to sources, the incident took place when the labourers were returning from work.

“Around 50-54 persons were on the boat, 10 people were reported missing and a search operation was launched to find the missing persons,” SDM Danapur to ANI.

On being informed, the Shahpur police station in-charge arrived at the spot and two boats were sent on rescue operation as well as the National Disaster Response Force team was informed.

Those missing include Ramadhar Ram (65), Kanchan Devi (35), Dora Ram’s daughter (40), Bhola Kumari (12), Aarti Kumari (14), Poojan Rai’s wife (45), Kumkum Devi, Vinod Rai, Chhotu Ram, and Mahesh Ram.
