New Delhi: YouTube has tightened rules against content makers that advertise uncertained gambling sites and apps. The website has said it will terminate accounts linked to their websites, displaying logos, or endorsing illegal gambling operations.

In line with YouTube, this action will significantly impact producers producing material related to casino games and gambling tools. Still, the company underlined that this is absolutely necessary to safeguard the community, particularly among young people.

The new guideline goes much farther, even although encouraging viewership on gambling websites and applications was already judged a policy breach. We will now remove any material that promises returns from gaming companies.

YouTube will also include age barriers to videos promoting online gambling websites or applications. Minor under the age of eighteen or signed-out users will not be able to view them. These guidelines will go into effect March 19.

Google, the parent company of YouTube, has rigorously prohibited online gaming for a long time. Google forbids the advertising of online casino games and does not let gambling advertisements in India.

Every month, online betting services draw a sizable pool of Indian users. The Digital India Foundation discovered in a study that four websites engaged in illicit gambling garnered about 43 million visits in three months via social media platform advertising. Moreover, direct URL access seen over a billion visitors to these websites.

With these new restrictions, YouTube intends to focus even more on its commitment to responsible content filtering and stop supporting illegal gaming websites.
