Teaser Of Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ To Be Launched During India-Pak World Cup Match

New Delhi: Makers of Vicky Kaushal’s much-awaited film Sam Bahadur are planning to release the teaser of the film this week. It will be launched on October 13 and will be screened with India v/s Pakistan match which is also taking place on the same day.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the same on his X handle. He wrote, “VICKY KAUSHAL: ‘SAM BAHADUR’ TEASER ON 13 OCT… Team #SamBahadur – based on the life of Field Marshal #SamManekshaw – will launch the teaser on 13 Oct 2023… Subsequently, the teaser will be screened at the much-awaited #INDvsPAK #WorldCup2023 match on 14 Oct 2023. Stars #VickyKaushal in title role with #FatimaSanaShaikh and #SanyaMalhotra… Directed by #MeghnaGulzar… Produced by #RonnieScrewvala… 1 Dec 2023 release.”

 

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the film’s producer Ronnie Screwvala (RSVP), has inked a special deal with Star Network to shared the teaser of this biopic during the India vs Pakistan game. A source close to the news portal revealed, “India vs Pakistan World Cup match is the biggest event of the year, which would be watched by over 5 crore Indians. The producers have gone ahead with an impactful marketing campaign as the teaser of Sam Bahadur will air all throughout India vs Pakistan game across the Star Network Platforms. The idea is to reach out to as many people as possible and invite them to experience this heroic tale of Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw.”

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur is based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. His career in the army spanned over four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and his military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war led to the creation of Bangladesh. The legendary role will be played by Vicky Kaushal in the film.

Apart from Vicky Kaushal, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh (as Indra Gandhi), Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick (as Lord Mountbatten), Richard Bhakti Klein (as Ambassador Keating), Saqib Ayub (Captain Attiqur Rahman) and Krishna Kant Singh Bundela (as Subedar Gurbaksh Singh).
