New Delhi: Two young men, identified as Sagar and Manoranjan, breached security and disrupted proceedings in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The incident unfolded as the youths entered the Parliament hall and ran towards the Speaker’s chair, prompting immediate apprehension.
Following their arrest, authorities identified Manoranjan as a resident of Mysuru’s Vijayanagar area. Devastated by his son’s actions, Devaraj Gowda, Manoranjan’s father, condemned the incident and demanded strict punishment. “Manoranjan completed his BE studies, thanks to HD Deve Gowda’s help. He often travelled between Delhi and Bengaluru, but his whereabouts during this time remain unclear,” Gowda stated.
“We have no affiliation with any political party. I have no explanation for my son’s actions. He cannot be considered my son anymore after committing such a grave offence against society. If he is guilty, he deserves the harshest punishment,” Gowda declared.
Mohan Danappa, an eyewitness in the visitors’ gallery, provided a firsthand account of the incident. “We were observing the proceedings when suddenly, a man from Gallery 2 jumped into the house and splashed coloured liquid, throwing one of his shoes. Some MPs managed to catch him before he could cause further disruption,” he described.
Initial investigation reveals that one of the accused obtained a pass through the private secretary of Mysuru MP Pratap Simha to enter Parliament. This incident has sparked outrage within Parliament, leading MPs to question the effectiveness of security measures and demand a statement from the Union Home Minister. Consequently, the Speaker has imposed a temporary ban on entry into the visitors’ gallery.
The ongoing investigation aims to determine the motives behind this security breach and implement necessary measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
