Vrindavan: The Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is set to convene in Vrindavan on 24th October 2024 for its annual meeting. This year’s agenda will focus on outlining future development plans and preparing for the centenary celebrations of the organisation.
Last year’s meeting took place in Bhuj, Gujarat, where it was decided to launch a nationwide campaign distributing akshat (unbroken rice) from 1st to 15th January, ahead of the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple. It remains to be seen what significant decisions will emerge from this year’s discussions.
The annual meeting typically occurs just before Diwali, with participation expected from all 45 provinces and 11 regions of the RSS, including key figures such as regional leaders, workers, and promoters. Mohan Bhagwat, along with other senior officials, is scheduled to arrive in Mathura starting 18th October for the preparations.
The meeting will also see the participation of B.L. Santosh, the National Organization Minister of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), along with other BJP officials, including co-organization ministers and vice presidents. Given that the meeting takes place shortly after the results of the Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections, discussions regarding the BJP’s performance in these states are anticipated.
Additionally, there are ongoing concerns regarding vacant positions for organization ministers within the BJP across several states. The RSS has previously been approached for the allocation of promoters to assist in filling these roles. Sources suggest that the BJP has been requesting RSS personnel for several years; however, the RSS cited a shortage of promoters as the reason for the lack of support, resulting in several empty positions within the party’s structure.
States like Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Rajasthan currently lack organization ministers, while Goa also remains without one. In Assam and Tripura, a single organization minister is managing operations for both states.
As the RSS prepares for this important meeting, the decisions made will likely shape the organization’s future strategies and influence the political landscape leading into the coming months.
