Rajasthan Political Turmoil Erupts Following Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s Murder

Jaipur: Two days after the assembly election results in Rajasthan, the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi has ignited a political firestorm. The Karni Sena has called for a statewide shutdown in protest against the killing, while the BJP, poised to form the state government, has accused the outgoing Congress government of reducing Gogamedi’s security with malicious intent.

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla shared a video of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, asserting that the police were aware of the threats to his life but the Chief Minister still chose to downgrade his security.

Poonawalla further alleged, based on information from within the Congress, that the party is plotting a vengeful campaign to destabilise Rajasthan by using mafia and unscrupulous elements to spread fabricated stories. He claimed that these tactics are being employed to tarnish the state’s reputation.

Poonawalla declared, “I find their actions repulsive.” “Technically, the Congress still holds power in the state, yet they are acting out of a sense of vengeance.”

Meanwhile, the Haryana Police have apprehended two suspects in connection with Gogamedi’s murder. Yesterday, around 2 p.m., three assailants posing as wedding card delivery personnel entered Gogamedi’s residence and shot him dead. The Karni Sena has called for a statewide bandh today to express their outrage over the murder.
