Kanpur: Rahul Gandhi of Congress met Shubham Dwivedi’s grieving family members during his visit to Uttar Pradesh on the second day of his trip, on Wednesday, in Kanpur. The resident of Kanpur, Shubham, lost his life during a terrorist attack that occurred at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. During the emotional meeting, Aishwarya, Shubham’s wife, collapsed when she saw Rahul, who provided her consolation through a comforting embrace.
A Family’s Heart-Wrenching Loss
A heavy sense of melancholy dominated the house where Shubham lived. Sanjay Dwivedi expressed his sorrow and begged the prominent politician to provide justice, as the nation was aware of his leadership position. The bullet that killed my son resulted in severe skull damage while he lay in Aishwarya’s lap. The family suffered immensely and needed accountability, which these words exemplified.
The chilling details of the attack
According to Aishwarya, the incident took place at 2:25 PM on April 22nd while they dined in Pahalgam. The terrorist who questioned their faith about being Hindu or Muslim appeared before them while wearing civilian attire. The terrorist killed Shubham instantaneously after Shubham gave his Hindu faith. Aishwarya identified the terrorists’ method as they checked victims’ names for religion before executing them as their wives watched. During that period the terrorists spent around 45 minutes executing victims according to their identity checks, she explained. The attackers revealed their intention, which was to execute husbands before their spouses so they would safely remain alive and convey the incident to the government.
No Help Amid Chaos
The terrorist attack left Aishwarya stranded while her sister protected her, but she received no assistance from the crowd. Her sister attempted to request assistance from horse-cart operators around them while they failed to respond. Despite her sister’s need for help, Aishwarya encouraged her to follow. Aishwarya told Rahul she stayed on site for seventeen to twenty minutes, during which she saw everything with her own eyes. I witnessed the attack and those events firsthand.
Rahul Gandhi’s Personal Connection to Grief
Rahul Gandhi expressed empathy with the grieving family during their desperate situation while expressing his familiarity with such sadness. The terrorist attacks claimed two lives of mine—a grandmother followed by my father. The politician promised to write a letter to the Prime Minister requesting a martyr designation for Shubham and raise the case during parliamentary sessions. Rahul Gandhi informed the family that he had used the opportunity to arrange an all-party summit with the Prime Minister to protect these types of sacrifices.
A Call with Priyanka Gandhi
Rahul arranged for Shubham’s family to speak with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra through telephone communication during his visit. He provided his promise of protection to their family by declaring, “We will not spare the terrorists.” Everyone involved in terrorist activities must endure the maximum disciplinary action for their crimes.
