Modi Story: Portal With People’s Anecdotes On PM Launched

New Delhi: A portal, which brings together inspiring stories related to Prime Minister Narendra Modi from those who have interacted with him over the years, was launched on Saturday.

A volunteer driven initiative, the website — modistory.in – was inaugurated by Sumitra Gandhi Kulkarni, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi.

“Announcing the launch of MODI STORY, a volunteer driven initiative to bring together inspiring moments from Narendra Modi’s life, as narrated by his co-travellers. Inaugurated by Smt. Sumitra Gandhi Kulkarni, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi,” the portal posted from its Twitter handle.

Not many will be aware that Modi was a BJP office-bearer in Punjab in the early days of his political career. Manoranjan Kalia, a leader from Punjab, shares experiences of his interaction with a young Modi in the portal.

Rasbihari Maniyar, his school principal at Gujarat’s Vadnagar, recalls Modi the student. Sharda Prajapati, in whose house Modi often stayed in the 1990s during his tours, recalls his impression of the future Prime Minister.

Kalia remembers Modi’s advice that they should carry toffees for children during electioneering, while Maniyar talks about the two-term PM’s deep feelings for the country’s armed forces and how the young Modi had come to him with a Sainik school application form.

Some others have shared their early experiences of interacting with Modi when he travelled around the country to work for the party.
