Maruti, like every other car maker in India, is eyeing the festive season to revive sales. To make things exciting, the company is launching the S-Presso hatchback on September 30. While the complete design has not been revealed, Maruti has uploaded a sketch video of the S-Presso:
The S-Presso is a mini-SUV looking hatchback. It will be available at regular Maruti Arena dealerships.
It is expected to be powered by a 1.0 litre K-Series petrol engine. The prices will most likely start around Rs 4 lakh.
It is the second product to be completely designed and developed in India. The first was Vitarra Brezza.
“Today’s youthful customers desire a reflection of their personality in the products they own. Our internal research suggests that the criteria of buying a car for the youth, apart from affordability, acquisition cost and maintenance, now also include design and aesthetics. With Mini SUV S-PRESSO, we offer a unique, premium, feature-rich and bold car that will disrupt the entry car segment in the country,” said Shashank Srivastava, executive director, sales and marketing, Maruti Suzuki.
