Pune: Breaking his silence on the shocking Lohagad Fort murder case, Praveen Goyal, the father of the prime accused Siya Goyal, has stated that his daughter should face the “strictest legal punishment” if the court finds her guilty of killing her fiancé, Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal. Speaking to the media for the first time since her arrest, an emotional Goyal expressed devastation over the incident and maintained that his family had absolutely no inkling of their daughter’s alleged relationship with her co-accused, Chetan Chaudhary.

The high-profile investigation began after June 18, 2026, when 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal, a director in a prominent Pimpri Chinchwad real estate firm, fell to his death into a 350-foot-deep gorge at Lohagad Fort near Lonavala. While Siya initially claimed that Agarwal had accidentally slipped while taking a photograph, technical evidence and detailed interrogation by the Pune Rural Police led to the arrest of the 20-year-old college student and her secret lover, 22-year-old Chetan Chaudhary, on charges of premeditated murder.

“If my daughter has committed this heinous crime, she does not deserve any mercy,” Praveen Goyal said, visually breaking down. “The court should award her the ultimate punishment. If the law proves her guilt, take her to the exact same spot at Lohagad Fort and push her down.”

Goyal, whose family runs a spices and dry fruits business in Pune’s Market Yard trading hub, added that the family is fully cooperating with the investigating agencies. He explicitly stated that if the police find any evidence of compliance, prior knowledge, or hiding of facts by any other family member, they too should be held legally accountable.

Recounting how the marriage alliance was established, Siya’s mother, Pooja Goyal, revealed that the families had finalized the arranged match only after repeatedly checking with their daughter. The couple was engaged in February and was scheduled to have a lavish destination wedding in Rajasthan later this year, for which a palace had already been reserved.

“We asked Siya at least ten times if she genuinely liked Ketan and wanted to marry him. Every single time she assured us she did and denied being in any other relationship,” her mother claimed. The parents further asserted that the pre-birthday trekking trip to Lohagad Fort was actually planned and insisted upon by Agarwal, contradicting reports that Siya had lured him there under a pretext.

Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Sandeep Singh Gill stated that the local crime branch is currently establishing the exact timeline of the conspiracy. Police sources revealed that investigators are also verifying if the duo had made three unsuccessful attempts on Agarwal’s life prior to the fatal June 18 incident. Meanwhile, both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary remain in police custody as the evaluation of technical data and financial transactions continues.
