New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Centre over the NEET paper leak controversy, questioning the reported plan to use Air Force aircraft and bullet proof vehicles for transporting examination papers.
Kejriwal said the government was trying to show a big security measure instead of fixing the real leakage points in the examination system. “Will using Air Force planes stop paper leaks?” he asked, while accusing the present system of failing to reach the root of the problem.
The former Delhi Chief Minister said he understood the importance of education as he himself was an IIT engineer. He said the country cannot progress unless every child gets access to good education and a fair examination system.
Targeting the Centre, Kejriwal alleged that India’s education system had come under the grip of a powerful mafia. He said transporting papers through the Air Force would not solve the crisis if those responsible for leaks were not identified and punished.
He also referred to the case of a Class 12 student named Vedant, whose complaint about alleged answer sheet irregularities had gone viral on social media. Kejriwal claimed that instead of listening to the student, a troll army targeted him. He said such pressure could discourage many students from speaking up.
The remarks come amid growing public concern over exam integrity, especially after repeated allegations of paper leaks and evaluation lapses. The Centre has told the Supreme Court that the matter is being monitored at the highest level and steps are being taken to make the examination process more secure.
For lakhs of students and parents, the debate is no longer only about one examination. It has become a wider question of trust, accountability and the future of India’s competitive exam system.
