Goa: In a heartbreaking turn of events, veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75 at his residence in Goa. The cinematic legend’s sudden demise has sent shockwaves across the country, but the final hours leading up to his death have painted a tragic picture of a desperate cry for help that went unanswered until it was too late.
According to Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Patekar experienced severe discomfort in the middle of the night. At approximately 2:30 AM, the actor sent a text message to a close friend stating, “I am not feeling well,” and complained of pain on the left side of his body. However, owing to the late hour, his friend did not see the message immediately. At the time, the actor was alone at his Goa home with only a caretaker present.
It was nearly an hour and a half later that the friend finally checked his phone, read the alarming message, and rushed to Patekar’s residence. Arriving at around 4:00 AM, the friend found the actor in a highly critical state. Reports indicate that Patekar was sweating profusely and struggling to breathe. Recognising the gravity of the situation, the caretaker was sent to fetch help, and an ambulance was immediately summoned.
Tragically, the situation deteriorated rapidly. Medical professionals revealed that by the time the ambulance crew reached the house, Patekar was already unconscious and entirely unresponsive. The emergency responders commenced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) at the residence before rushing him to a nearby hospital at 4:20 AM.
Despite the relentless efforts of the medical team, who continued administering CPR for another 45 minutes in the emergency room, the actor could not be revived. While doctors strongly suspect that Patekar suffered a massive cardiac arrest, a post-mortem examination was conducted to officially confirm the exact cause of death.
The poignant detail of his final, unread text message has left fans and loved ones deeply moved, adding a profound sense of loss to the departure of one of Indian cinema’s finest performers.
