Hamas Head Yahya Sinwar’s Last Moments Caught On Video By Israeli Defence Force

TEL AVIV: New footage released by IDF demonstrates that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar evacuating through the tunnel with his family during a sudden attack on 7 October 2023. Ynetnews has, however, released the video showing Sinwar fleeing with his family and supplies to an underground bunker in Southern Gaza only to be produced dead.

The footage according to TV reports was shot in the 6 and 7 October 2023 when Hamas was attacking Israel, killing innocent people. The Israeli military has criticised Sinwar’s actions with the latter referred to as a coward after escaping. In the video, the man, who was identified as Sinwar, his wife, and children are seen carrying water, mattresses, pillows and a television set into a tunnel. IDF says it appeared to be part of his preparations for a cease in hostilities to seek cover during an attack on civilians.

IDF Statement on Sinwar’s Escape

After Sinwar’s death in Rafah, southern Gaza, the IDF aired the footage along with a message accusing the Hamas leader of being reckless about his own life while planning an attack that killed Israeli civilians. IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said the tunnel where Sinwar was hiding was located beneath his family’s home in Khan Younis. The footage was said to have been found months ago during operation conducted by the Israel defence force in the gaza strip.

Hagari said: “Before the massacre, Sinwar was busy just trying to ensure his survival and he hurried into the tunnel with his family only a few hours before the attack.” He went further ahead and pointed out that Sinwar’s freedom was not a like losing lives to the Hamas attack to Israel.

The Life inside Sinwar’s Bunker

The IDF also provided pictures of Sinwar’s underground structure containing a kitchen, bathroom and living areas, bed, uniforms, cash among other items. This was the case according to the IDF, who claimed last Saturday that they infiltrated Sinwar’s underground hideout in February but left after discovering he had fled the scene shortly before their arrival.

Hamas: Sinwar’s Death a Martyrdom

Before proceeding let me state that following Sinwar’s assassination, the Hamas organisation boycotts the footage, regarding Sinwar as an Islamic martyr who lost his life fighting. They denied Hagari’s statements were true and they were adamant that Sinwar waged a battle until his death. On Wednesday this week, aerial video emerged displaying Sinwar grievously wounded and, according to the reports, hurling an object at the flying machine before collapsing from a fatal bullet to the head.

IDF is still making public information about the last days of Sinwar, deepening the conflict of Israel and Hamas.
