Mumbai: After nearly a decade of anticipation, Rohit Shetty’s beloved comedy franchise is officially making a grand return to the silver screen. The celebrated filmmaker has announced that Golmaal 5 will hit theatres worldwide on January 8, 2027, promising a spectacular and entertaining start to the new year for Bollywood enthusiasts.
The fifth instalment of the blockbuster series brings back the iconic ensemble cast while introducing a major new addition. Ajay Devgn will reprise his legendary role as Gopal, alongside returning franchise favourites Arshad Warsi as Madhav, Tusshar Kapoor as Lucky, Kunal Kemmu, and Shreyas Talpade. In a nostalgic treat for long-time fans, Sharman Joshi is officially returning to the fold after his memorable stint in the original 2006 film, Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. Adding immense star power to the comedy project, Akshay Kumar is set to join the cinematic universe, reportedly taking on the role of the antagonist.
Taking to social media on Saturday, Rohit Shetty shared a vibrant motion poster featuring the core cast—Ajay, Arshad, Sharman, Tusshar, Kunal, and Shreyas—riding together on a single motorcycle against the scenic backdrop of a lush, green hill station. Expressing his enthusiasm, Shetty captioned the post, “LAUGHTER, FUN, JOY, HAPPINESS AND FAMILY… BAS, NOTHING ELSE. 8TH JAN 2027.”
The producers further amplified the excitement with an official statement. They announced, “2027 is all set to begin with fun, laughter and a whole lot of Golmaal! Get ready for the madness as Golmaal 5 arrives in cinemas on 8th January 2027! New year. New madness. Same Golmaal!”
Produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with T-Series, the highly awaited film recently wrapped up a crucial shooting schedule. Production initially kicked off in Ooty in April 2026, with the primary dialogue sequences completed by August. Actor Tusshar Kapoor gave fans a glimpse into the rigorous production process, sharing a schedule wrap selfie on Instagram. He wrote, “79 days of hard work, passion, day-night shoots, power naps and holidays! Lekin picture Abhi baaki hai!”
Arriving more than two decades after the franchise first redefined Hindi cinematic comedy, Golmaal 5 is already generating massive industry buzz.
