Google Chrome To Mark Slow Loading Sites

Google Chrome is reportedly going to label websites that typically load slowly. Chrome is expected to display a badge for this soon. It may also identify and suggest if a site is likely to be slow on the user’s device and current network conditions.

Google hasn’t decided exactly how to show slow loading websites. It might shame slow loading sites with a “Loading…” page or warning caution icon that reads “usually loads slow”, according to Techcrunch.

A fast loading website will probably have a green progress indicator bar.

This will let users decided whether to visit a link or not. The company wants to identify and badge websites offering “high-quality” experiences.

This ranking will not only be based on loading times but overall site performance. The parameters are not clear but the process is expected to be stringent.

The company wants to deliver a better mobile experience, which will help serve better ads as well.
