New Delhi: After Prashant Kishor met Sonia, Rahul Gandhi and other senior Congress leaders on Saturday, there was talk of the poll strategist joining the grand old party.
Prashant, who has worked with Congress before as well as BJP, JD(U), AAP, YSRCP, DMK and Trinamool Congress, gave a detailed presentation on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections at party president Sonia Gandhi’s residence.
India Today quoted highly-placed source as saying that Congress has asked Kishor to join the party, rather than work as a consultant.
“Prashant Kishor may join Congress. He will not be used as a consultant, rather he has been asked to join the party and work as a leader. He gave a detailed presentation about the roadmap and organizational changes needed in the run up to the 2024 Lok Sabha poll,” the source said.
Prashant reportedly stressed on organizational structure, focusing more on states where the Congress is strong.
According to Congress leader KC Venugopal, “Prashant Kishor gave a presentation on the 2024 elections, which will be looked at by a small group of party leaders. The Congress president will decide on who will lead the group.”
According to party sources, Prashant is of the opinion that Congress should concentrate on 370 Lok Sabha seats and try to forge alliances for the remainder (172) of the seats.
