Hyderabad: In a breathtaking display of fast bowling, 24-year-old Vidarbha pacer Praful Hinge made an unforgettable IPL debut for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Not only did he claim a four-wicket haul against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), but he also etched his name in the record books by snapping up three wickets in the very first over of the innings.

The highlight of his explosive opening spell was the golden duck dismissal of RR’s 15-year-old prodigy, Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Vaibhav, who had already gained massive recognition by scoring a century in just seven matches during the 2025 season, was caught completely off-guard on the first delivery.

Following his stellar performance, Hinge revealed the calculated masterplan behind the crucial wicket, citing their past encounters in domestic cricket.

“I have played against him in Under-23 cricket during my career so far. In that match too, I had gotten Vaibhav out with a bouncer,” Hinge explained. “I thought that if I bowl a bouncer, he would want to hit it. I did exactly that; I bowled a bouncer, he tried to play a shot, and I got the wicket.”

Hinge further attributed the successful execution to his bowling coach’s advice during the team meeting. “I shared my idea in the meeting. After that, my bowling coach told me to go over the wicket, and I did exactly that, which brought great joy to both of us,” the young pacer added.

Thanks to Hinge’s devastating spell, SRH secured a one-sided victory over Rajasthan. Riding on a three-match winning streak, Hyderabad will look to maintain their momentum as the two teams prepare for a highly-anticipated rematch on April 25. All eyes will also be on whether SRH skipper Pat Cummins returns to lead the side.
