New Delhi: A loud blast which created terror in the Prashant Vihar area of Rohini Delhi on Sunday morning at about 2. It happened near the fence of a school run by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and caused concern among inhabitants of the district.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing a strong explosion around 7:50 am, soon after hearing the blast there was a mushrooming of a column of smoke about 300 metres from the CRPF school. As everyone expected that there was a bomb that was about to explode, everyone especially the Congolese people moved tabulously and alerted the security forces.
Both the Delhi Police and the fire fighting departments rushed towards the site of the explosion as soon as reports came. The Delhi Fire Service rushed two fire-tenders to the scene but, at the time of filing this report, there was no sign of a fire let alone any structural damage to the wall.
There were reports of a possible blast close to the CRPF school, however, upon reaching the site there was little or no serious harm to property or people. Nevertheless, police teams are working to resolve the matter, and searches of the territory continue at the moment.
The underlying cause of the explosion has not been ascertained and the investigation is still ongoing. Local residents are be concerned of the event and many of them are calling the authorities to give information on what led to the blast and protection.
Unfortunately, to date, there were no losses, or at least injuries, but such an occurrence raises concern in the society. That’s right and the authorities are taking the situation very seriously, sealing the area as they try to establish the cause of the explosion.
First responders are still on standby and more information from the police and fire department will be provided as the investigation continues.
