Online Pollution Testing Certificate Mandatory In Odisha From Oct 1

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Transport Authority (STA) in a release on Monday said that online Pollution Testing Certificate (PTC) will be mandatory for all vehicles in the state from October 1.

According to the release, the emission results obtained during pollution testing shall be electronically uploaded through online process on VAHAN by September 30 as no PUC certificate will be accepted without being issued through VAHAN on or before October 1. The manual certificates issued by PTC after September 30 will be treated as invalid.

The PUC certificate issued online can be shown in the electronic form through the Parivahan app and it is not mandatory for the citizens to carry the certificates in physical form as per the provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the release added.

At present, 163 authorised PTCs are available throughout the state out of which 106 PTCs have already been linked with VAHAN to issue online PUC certificates. As of now, 69,210 PUC certificates have been issued online between September 1 and 20.

The fees for PUC certificate testing for two and three-wheelers and light motor vehicles is Rs 60 and Rs 100 respectively while for the medium and heavy motor vehicle the fee is Rs 150 with GST as applicable.

For the convenience of the vehicle owners, STA has uploaded the list of the valid, newly authorized PTCs and the existing authorized PTCs along with the detailed procedure to apply for setting up of new PTCs on the websites www.odishatransport.gov.in and www.orissatransport.nic.in
