Bhubaneswar: Several leaders of Odisha mourned the untimely demise of senior journalist and resident editor of Business Standard (Bhubaneswar edition), Dilip Satpathy, who passed away here late on Sunday.
Expressing profound grief over the passing away of the eminent business analyst of Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik offered condolences to the bereaved family, friends and followers. “A seasoned journalist with high standards of professional ethics, Satpathy, during his stint at various media houses including Business Standard, has displayed superb acumen and remarkable intelligence to put issues in proper perspective. His demise is a great loss to the field of journalism in Odisha,” he added.
ବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ସାମ୍ବାଦିକ ତଥା ଅର୍ଥନୀତି ବିଶାରଦ ଦିଲ୍ଲୀପ ଶତପଥୀଙ୍କ ଦେହାନ୍ତ ବିଷୟରେ ଜାଣି ମୁଁ ଦୁଃଖିତ। ତାଙ୍କ ଅମର ଆତ୍ମାର ସଦଗତି କାମନା କରିବା ସହିତ ଶୋକସନ୍ତପ୍ତ ପରିବାରବର୍ଗଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ମୋର ସମବେଦନା ଜଣାଉଛି।

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed shock at the passing away of Satpathy. “A journalist par excellence and a fine human being, Dilip bhai’s sudden demise is a huge loss to the field of journalism in Odisha,” he added.

Describing Satpathy as one of the most respected financial journalists among his peers, BJP national vice-president and spokesperson Baijayant Panda said that it a personal loss for him since they were friends since his college days.

He was a friend since our college days, who began as a passionate investigative reporter & evolved into one of the most respected financial journos among his peers.

Several eminent persons, senior journalists and senior bureaucrats rushed to Satpathy’s residence at the Heera Apartment in the city to pay their last respect.
The last rites of Satpathy will be performed at Satyanagar crematorium this afternoon.
