Bhubaneswar: In a bureaucratic reshuffle, the Odisha government on Saturday appointed 1985-batch IAS officer, Gagan Kumar Dhal as the new chairman of the Odisha Forest Development Corporation (OFDC).
However, there is lack of clarity on Dhal’s continuance in government service as he has submitted an application, seeking retirement, on August 6. On Friday, the Odisha government, in a press release, said Dhal wants to quit because of ‘personal and family reasons’. He is due for retirement in December-end. Dhal has refused to comment on the matter. Official sources said, the government is yet to take a decision on his retirement application.
According to a notification by the General Administration and Public Grievances Department, 1986-batch IAS officer, Asit Kumar Tripathy is the new Chief Secretary and Chief Development Commissioner, with the additional charge of chairman, Odisha State Pollution Control Board and (OSPCB) and Odisha Remote Sensing Application Centre (ORSAC).
Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, 1986-batch IAS officer is the new Development Commissioner with additional charge of working chairperson of Shree Jagatnnath Temple Administration (SJTA).
1986 batch IAS Sudarshan Pal Thakur will take charge as Director General, Gopabandhu Academy with the additional charge of Chief Administrator, KBK.
1988 batch IAS Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra is the new Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, School and Mass Education.
1989 batch IAS and Principal Secretary, Rural Development, Mona Sharma will be given additional charge of Principal Secretary, Forest and Environment
1990 batch IAS and Principal Secretary, Industry and Chairman Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), Sanjiv Chopra has been given additional charge of principal secretary, Home.
Senior IRTS (Indian Railway Traffic Service) officer and Commissioner Rail Coordination and Special Secretary, Commerce and Transport, Manoj Kumar Mishra, has been given additional charge of Secretary, Electronics and IT.
Rudra Narayan Palai, ITS (Indian Telecommunication Service) and Special Secretary, Electronics and IT, is appointed as Special Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management.
