New Delhi: BJP president Amit Shah’s assets have grown by Rs 4.5 crore in little over a year.
The figure was disclosed in Shah’s affidavit, when he filed his nomination for Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday. The affidavit also said he faces four criminal charges, two each in Bengal and Bihar.
His net asset as of today stands at Rs 38.81 crore. Shah had last declared his assets in 2017 when he contested the Rajya Sabha elections. He had then pegged it at Rs 34.31 crore. His assets have increased by Rs 4.5 crore since 2017.
As per the affidavit, at the time of filing of nomination, Shah had Rs 20,633 cash in hand and his wife Sonalben Rs 72,578 cash in hand.
Shah and his wife have Rs 27.80 lakh in several savings bank accounts, and a fixed deposit of Rs 9.80 lakh. Regarding source of income, Shah declared his salary as Rajya Sabha MP and rent on properties and income from agricultural activity.
As for educational qualifications, Shah revealed he’s a college dropout as he did not pursue his Bachelor of Commerce degree beyond the second year. On cases and criminal record, Shah declared four cases against him without any conviction.
