New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the much-awaited date sheet for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the upcoming academic year 2027. Bringing significant clarity to millions of students across the country, the board announced that the major examinations for both classes will commence simultaneously on February 16, 2027.
In a highly proactive move aimed at reducing student anxiety, the CBSE has issued the comprehensive timetable exactly 101 days ahead of the first examination. This early announcement is strategically designed to provide students with ample time to plan, revise, and finalise their academic preparations without the stress of last-minute schedule uncertainties.
According to the newly released official schedule, the Class 10 board examinations will run for approximately three weeks and are set to conclude on March 9, 2027. Meanwhile, the Class 12 board exams, which encompass a much wider array of subjects across the science, commerce, and humanities streams, will continue for a longer duration and officially wrap up on April 9, 2027.
The scale of the upcoming board examinations continues to be massive. The education board has confirmed that more than 46 lakh students from affiliated schools across India and abroad have registered to appear for the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations this year. The logistical arrangements to accommodate such a vast number of candidates at various examination centres are already underway.
Educational experts and teachers have welcomed the early release of the timetable. Releasing the date sheet over three months in advance gives students a clear psychological advantage, allowing them to create a focused study plan and allocate adequate time to difficult subjects based on the gaps between consecutive exams.
Students and parents are strongly advised to visit the official CBSE website to download and verify the detailed, subject-wise schedule. While the theory exam dates are now locked in, the board is expected to release further guidelines regarding practical examinations, internal assessments, and admit card distributions in the coming weeks. For now, the early publication of the timetable has set the definitive countdown for the 2027 board exams.
