Kolkata: In a shocking incident of mob justice from Kolkata, an 18-year-old boy, his friend, and his father were brutally assaulted and paraded naked after the teenager was caught kissing a 13-year-old girl. Kolkata Police have swiftly intervened, arresting three members of the girl’s family in connection with the horrific assault.
According to police officials, the alarming event unfolded on Sunday when the 18-year-old boy, accompanied by a friend, went to meet the minor girl. The situation escalated drastically when the girl’s uncle allegedly caught the boy kissing his niece. Enraged by the scene, the uncle immediately informed the girl’s father and another uncle.
Taking the law into their own hands, the girl’s family members reached the spot, forcibly took the 18-year-old and his friend, and brutally assaulted them. The attackers then forced the boy to summon his father to the location. When the unsuspecting father arrived, he was subjected to the same violent treatment.
According to reports, the mob escalated their brutality by holding the trio at gunpoint and issuing death threats, coercing them into stripping off their clothes. The boy, his father, and his friend were then forced to walk naked for about 50 metres in a humiliating public parade.
Following the ordeal, the boy’s father lodged a formal complaint with the authorities. Acting promptly on the complaint, Kolkata Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS). The charges brought against the accused include attempted murder, causing hurt with dangerous weapons, wrongful confinement, defamation, criminal intimidation, and kidnapping.
Police have confirmed the arrest of the girl’s father, mother, and uncle. “Raids are continuously underway to apprehend other individuals involved in this mob justice incident,” police sources stated.
The victims have undergone medical examinations, and while allegations of firearms being used to threaten them are a part of the FIR, no weapons have been recovered by the authorities as of yet. Investigators are currently scanning the area’s CCTV footage to verify the sequence of events and identify any additional perpetrators involved in the public assault.
