New Delhi: A major political controversy has erupted following Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut’s contentious remarks about a potential “regime change” in India. In a sharp counter-offensive, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on the opposition alliance on Friday, specifically targeting Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
Spearheading the BJP’s response, Rajya Sabha MP and national spokesperson Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi accused the opposition parties of orchestrating a deliberate conspiracy to create instability and forcefully execute a regime change in the country. Trivedi did not mince words while criticising Gandhi, labelling him a “repeatedly launched failed product” who has now evolved into a “riddle for the country.”
During his media address, Trivedi firmly alleged that all political experiments involving the Congress leader have consistently failed over the years. He asserted that Gandhi’s track record has transformed from a political challenge into a significant liability for the grand old party. Taking a direct dig at the Leader of the Opposition’s frequent overseas visits, the BJP spokesperson accused him of disappearing from the domestic political scene abruptly, only to engage in anti-national propaganda while operating from foreign soil.
The current political firestorm was initially ignited by a bold assertion from Sanjay Raut. The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader recently claimed that a definitive “regime change” would take place in India as soon as Rahul Gandhi returns from his current trip to Vietnam. This specific statement immediately provided fresh ammunition to the ruling party, prompting BJP leaders to publicly question the democratic intent and overarching strategy of the opposition bloc.
By highlighting Raut’s controversial statement, the BJP is actively aiming to portray the opposition’s political maneuvers as an undemocratic plot designed to destabilize a democratically elected government. Trivedi’s fierce rebuttal underscores the rapidly escalating political rhetoric between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition INDIA bloc, as both sides continue to fiercely trade barbs over national stability and democratic processes.
As the war of words intensifies, political observers are keenly watching how the Congress and its allies will officially respond to the BJP’s serious allegations of attempting to orchestrate political instability.
